We have recently enrolled in the Young Star program. Young Star encourages all daycare's to do the best for all children. We will add some of there ideas to our structure. One teacher from each room just completed WMELMS 18 hour course on using new techniques for teaching children individually. We also are organizing portfolios on every child. This is an exceptional way to inform parents of their child's progress. The individuals portfolios will follow your child throughout each classroom of our daycare.
The philosophy of Mrs. Rikki's Structured Daycare is to provide a developmentally appropriate program for young children that teaches the whole child concept, respects children as individuals and stimulates a child's natural interest enjoyment of learning.
We respect each child's individual time table for growth and development, and
allow children to learn at their own pace through teacher-supported activities.
The Early Childhood Center uses the Creative Curriculum for Preschool as the
keystone of our child- centered, play-based program.
Play is the basis for learning in our programs. We work to empower children,
promote individuality, and develop strong partnerships with family and
community with life experiences and cultural heritage while creating an
environment that helps young children attain physical cognitive, social, and
emotional achievements, preparing them for the next step in life. We are
committed to working collaboratively with families to promote a child's success.
Teachers facilitate each child's development based on the child's interests and individuality, helping learn about themselves and the world. Our classrooms provide the children with a daily routine of creative play and learning centers with different skill levels. We incorporate respect of being together with circle time, games, singing and dancing and story time and art with respect of personal time of looking at books, worksheets or jus playing alone. We also incorporate sharing, manners, appropriate talk and other life skills into our daily routine.
Teachers routinely observe the children interacting with each other, the adults, and the learning materials in their environment. These observations become the basis for future lesson plans as well as the assessments that are completed and shared with parents.
Our daycare is open and and accepting of all children and families. We encourage that all children, families and staff will be treated with respect and treat others the same. Our teachers promote healthy lifestyles through nutritious, homemade meals and active programs.
Mrs. Rikki's Structured Daycare recognizes the importance of quality staff in all areas, we support highly qualified and skilled educators that are loving, patient and compassionate that want to help children grow to be the best they can be.
